Kingston Movie OTT Release & World TV Premiere Dates Official: GV Prakash Kumar-starrer latest adventure horror-thriller written and directed by Kamal Prakash is finally gearing up for its OTT debut. As a double-up, the film's world television premiere was also announced by the streaming partners amid speculations of tentative release dates. The movie which stars Divyabharathi as the female lead was theatrically released on March 7 and earned mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and movie buffs. The movie was made on Rs 20 Crore budget but only earned Rs 5.35 Crore from its worldwide box office including Tamil and Telugu versions.
Kingston Synopsis
The movie Kingston is set against the backdrop of a coastal village called Thoovathur, Tamil Nadu. It transcends between the present and the past (1982) where a curse drives away villagers and prompts them to quit fishing. In the present, Kingston (GV Prakash Kumar) who wants to make more money works for a smuggling gang led by Thomas (Sabumon Abdusamad) in Thoothukudi. After an incident, Kingston decides to leave the gang and return to his village to revive fishing. What is the curse? What Happens to Kingston? Did he stop the curse?
Kingston OTT Platform & Release Date
The post-theatrical digital streaming and satellite rights of GV Prakash Kumar and Divyabharathi-starrer horror film are secured by the ZEE group for a decent price. The group secured the streaming rights for all languages. After its OTT release, the movie will start streaming with subtitles. There was a buzz that the movie Kingston will debut on April 4 but quashing the rumours, the makers and the streaming partners officiall announced Kingston movie's OTT release on April 13 along with the world TV premiere on Zee Tamil.
Kingston Cast & Crew
The movie stars G.V Prakash Kumar as Kingston, Divyabharathi as Divya, Chetan as Solomon, Nithin Sathya, Azhagam Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, Sabumon Abdusamad, Sha Ra, Antony, Arunachaleswaran, Rajesh Balachandiran, and Ram Nishanth among others in key roles.
Co-produced by GV Prakash Kumar along with Bhavani Sre and Umesh KR Bansal under the Parallel Universe Pictures and ZEE Studios banner, the movie was made on a budget of Rs 20 Crore. San Lokesh and Gokul Benoy worked as the editor and cinematographer of Kingston. GV Prakash Kumar himself composed the film's score and music.
