Netizens Hail Dhanush's Performance In Kuberaa: Sekhar Kammula's much-anticipated multilingual film Kuberaa opened in cinemas worldwide on June 20, 2025, and just hours after its release, social media platforms lit up with strong reactions-particularly for lead actor Dhanush's performance. A significant section of the online community, including film industry trackers and cinephiles, is already calling it a career-defining turn for the actor.

The buzz began soon after early morning shows wrapped up in India, with X (formerly Twitter) flooded with fan posts and opinions. Inside Kuberaa: A Pan-Indian Social Thriller Led by Dhanush

Kuberaa is a social thriller written and directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-written by Chaithanya Pingali. The film has been produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations and Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, with Sonali Narang presenting. The film was made in both Telugu and Tamil languages at the same time.

Dhanush leads a pan-Indian cast that includes Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. The film was first announced in June 2021 under the working title D51, commemorating Dhanush's 51st film. With Nagarjuna's entry, it briefly became known as DNS-an acronym for Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Sekhar. The final title, Kuberaa, was made official in March 2024.

Production kicked off in February 2024, with Hyderabad and Mumbai hosting most of the shoot. The crew includes cinematographer Niketh Bommireddy, editor Karthika Srinivas R, and production designer Thota Tharani. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music for the film, collaborating with Dhanush for the third time and teaming up with Sekhar Kammula for the first.

Ahead of its release, three singles and a teaser titled Trance of Kuberaa were released. A pre-release event was held on June 15 in Hyderabad, where director S. S. Rajamouli unveiled the film's trailer in the presence of the main cast.

With Kuberaa now in theaters, all eyes are on box office numbers and critical reception. But based on early viewer reactions, Dhanush's portrayal already seems to be striking a chord with audiences.
