Maaman Tamil Nadu Box Office Collection Day 6: The Tamil film industry witnessed an exciting clash lately as two highly anticipated movies-Devil's Double Next Level (DD Next Level) and Maaman-which had hit the screens on May 16. While Santhanam's horror-comedy brought the laughs and chills, Soori's action-drama packed an emotional punch, leaving audiences divided yet entertained as both movies opened to rave reviews and lit up the box office since the first day itself. Premiering on May 16, both films opened to solid responses, with fans and critics drawing constant comparisons.

DD Next Level, directed by S. Prem Anand, is a horror comedy that stars stars Santhanam alongside Geethika Tiwary in a double role, Selvaraghavan, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, with a strong supporting cast including Nizhalgal Ravi, Rajendran, and Redin Kingsley. On the other hand, Prasanth Pandiyaraj's Maaman features Soori in a rugged action avatar, supported by Aishwarya Lekshmi, Rajkiran, and Swasika, with Bala Saravanan and Baba Bhaskar adding comic relief. With contrasting genres but equal hype, this box office battle has kept fans on the edge of their seats.

According to a tweet shared by Cinetrak, Devil's Double Next Level failed to touch Rs 1 crore mark. Reportedly, the movie minted Rs 86 lakhs on day 6 (first Wednesday) in Tamil Nadu which took th overall collection to Rs 11.02 crores

On the other hand, Maaman took a lead over Devil's Double Next Level in Tamil Nadu and minted over double of Santhanam starrer. Reportedly, Maaman minted Rs 1.70 crores on day 6 (first Wednesday) taking the overall collection of the movie to Rs 11.92 crores.

Meanwhile, Devil's Double Next Level had sparked a controversy due to devotional track in the film following which several political leaders demanded its removal along with a heavy compensation. According to India Today, BJP leader Bhanuprakash Reddy, who is also a board member of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), has taken strong offence to the remix and demanded a Rs 100 crore in compensation if the song is not removed
