Maareesan Box Office Collection: Maareesan, the latest Tamil adventure drama thriller directed by Sudheesh Sankar, continues its theatrical run with a modest but noticeable rise in box office numbers on its second day. Starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in lead roles, the film was released in cinemas on 25 July 2025 and has so far collected an estimated ₹2.12 crore net across India, based on early estimates from box office tracker Sacnilk.

The film opened with a net collection of ₹0.75 crore on Friday. Despite the relatively slow start, Maareesan witnessed a notable 82.67% jump on Saturday, pulling in around ₹1.37 crore. These are early estimates and subject to revision as final reports come in.

Maareesan: Story and Production Details

Written by V. Krishna Moorthy and produced by R. B. Choudary under the Super Good Films banner, Maareesan follows an Alzheimer's patient who escapes from his home with the help of a thief. While the partnership seems compassionate on the surface, the thief's true motive lies in accessing the patient's wealth.

The supporting cast includes Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, P. L. Thenappan, Livingston, and Renuka, among others. The film also marks a reunion between Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala, a pair last seen together in Mersal (2017).

As per reports, principal photography for Maareesan began on 22 January 2024, with key portions shot in Chennai and other locations. The film went through multiple shooting schedules, pausing briefly to accommodate Fahadh Faasil's commitments to Pushpa 2: The Rule. The final leg of filming resumed in late October 2024.
