Maareesan Box Office Collection Day 4: Fahadh Faasil And Vadivelu's Thriller Film Sees Weekday Dip In Earnings

Maareesan Box Office Collection Day 4 Update

Maareesan Box Office Collection: Maareesan, the Tamil adventure drama thriller starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, has completed its first four days in theaters. According to early estimates from box office tracking platform Sacnilk, the film has collected approximately ₹3.89 crore net across India, showing modest growth over the weekend but a significant dip on Monday.

Directed by Sudheesh Sankar and written by V. Krishna Moorthy, Maareesan opened in cinemas on July 25, 2025. The film is produced by R. B. Choudary under the Super Good Films banner, marking the company's 98th production. The plot revolves around an unusual partnership between an Alzheimer's patient and a thief, the latter using the former's situation to his advantage, setting off a journey that unfolds across different locations.

The film's opening day, Friday, brought in an estimated ₹0.75 crore. Collections improved on Saturday to ₹1.37 crore-an 82% jump-indicating growing word of mouth. On Sunday, the trend continued with a slight increase to ₹1.39 crore. However, Monday saw a sharp drop to ₹0.38 crore, reflecting the typical weekday slowdown many films face after their initial weekend run.

Fahadh-Vadivelu Film Faces Weekday Test Ahead of Weekend Run

The project drew early attention due to the collaboration between Fahadh Faasil and veteran comedian Vadivelu, particularly after the popularity of their previous individual performances in Maamannan and other hits. Appearing in supporting roles are Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, P.L. Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja, forming a diverse ensemble cast.

The technical crew features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji, and editing by Sreejith Sarang. The film also reunites Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala, a duo known for their on-screen chemistry in Tamil cinema.

Take a Poll

Maareesan began production in January 2024 and was reportedly shot on various schedules across Chennai. While the film's premise offers a mix of drama and thriller elements, its weekday performance will be crucial in determining how it sustains through its first full week in theaters.

As the film enters its fifth day, attention now turns to how it will perform during the upcoming weekend, especially amid competition from other Tamil and regional releases.
