Maareesan X Review: What Audiences Are Saying About Fahadh Faasil And Vadivelu Starrer

Maareesan X Review What Viewers Are Saying Now

Maareesan X Review: Maareesan, the latest Tamil adventure-drama-thriller, made its theatrical debut today, reuniting actors Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu after their appearance together in Maamannan (2023). Helmed by Sudheesh Sankar and penned by V. Krishna Moorthy, the project is backed by producer R. B. Choudary of Super Good Films.

The film's release on 25 July 2025 has already stirred conversation online, particularly on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). As early shows commence across Tamil Nadu and other regions, viewers are beginning to share their initial reactions, with broader feedback expected to emerge throughout the day and into the weekend. Prior to its release, the film had drawn interest, especially due to the pairing of veteran comedian Vadivelu and critically acclaimed actor Fahadh Faasil.

Maareesan Storyline

According to the makers, Maareesan follows the journey of an elderly man with Alzheimer's who escapes from home and ends up travelling across different places. He is aided by a thief, played by Fahadh Faasil, who, rather than helping out of sympathy, is motivated by the hope of accessing the man's substantial bank balance. The storyline suggests a blend of suspense, humor, and social commentary, packaged as a road journey with contrasting characters at the center.

Maareesan: Production and Development

Maareesan was officially announced on 1 January 2024 as the 98th production from Super Good Films. Shooting began later that month, with a significant portion filmed in Chennai. The film also marks a reunion of Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala, who previously appeared together in Mersal (2017). Supporting cast members include Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, P. L. Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja.

Maareesan: Technical Crew

The music for Maareesan is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Kalaiselvan Sivaji handling cinematography and Sreejith Sarang in charge of editing. Other key contributors include Dinesh Manoharan (costume), Phoenix Prabu (stunts), Banglan (production design), and M. R. Rajakrishnan (sound mixing). Visual effects are handled by Lavan & Kushan of Digital Turbo Media, and post-production services are provided by Knack Studios.

Take a Poll

With its theatrical release now underway, box office trends and public reception are expected to become clearer in the coming days. Viewer discussions, both online and offline, will likely shape the film's journey beyond its opening weekend.
