Maargan Box Office Collection Day 2: Vijay Antony's Movie Sees Modest Growth Over Opening Day

Maargan Day 2 Box Office Vijay Antony Film Sees Uptick

Maargan Box Office Collection: Vijay Antony's latest Tamil crime thriller, Maargan, which hit theaters on June 27, 2025, has shown a moderate uptick in box office collections on its second day. According to early estimates from box office tracking platform Sacnilk, the film garnered around ₹1.41 crore (India net) across all languages on Saturday, up from its opening day collection of ₹0.85 crore.

With this, Maargan has managed a total two-day collection of approximately ₹2.26 crore. The Tamil version contributed the bulk of earnings on both days, while the Telugu-dubbed version added a smaller share. The opening day saw ₹0.65 crore coming from Tamil and ₹0.2 crore from Telugu, based on available data.

Vijay Antony Stars In A Procedural Thriller

The film, which marks editor Leo John Paul's directorial debut, follows the story of Mumbai ADGP Dhruv, played by Vijay Antony, who becomes entangled in a complex murder investigation. The narrative unfolds as Dhruv tracks a series of interconnected crimes that point toward a deeper conspiracy. The thriller also features performances by Ajay Dhishan as Tamilarivu and P. Samuthirakani as Muthuvel Rajan, with Brigida Saga portraying Inspector Shruthi Selvaraj.

Maargan attempts to combine procedural investigation elements with character-driven storytelling. Its screenplay is penned by Leo John Paul in collaboration with Vishnu, and it has been produced by Fatima Vijay Antony under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner.

The film's music has been composed by Vijay Antony himself, continuing his trend of multitasking across departments. Cinematography is handled by S. Yuva, and editing duties remain with the director. Notably, the post-production involved several VFX studios, including Vijay Antony Studio and RealWorks Studios.

Despite mixed initial reception and a relatively soft opening, the day-two jump may offer some encouragement to the makers, particularly with the weekend progressing. The coming days will be critical in determining whether the film gains momentum or settles into a steady but limited theatrical run.

As it stands, Maargan faces competition from other regional releases but could still attract a niche audience drawn to its dark investigative theme and procedural storytelling.
