According to film industry tracker Ramesh Bala, the horror thriller MurMur had a remarkable opening weekend. Starting with just 30 screens on Friday, the film quickly gained traction, expanding to 220 screens by Sunday. Despite featuring an unknown cast, MurMur managed to gross an impressive ₹2.50 crore in its first weekend, reflecting unprecedented audience support. This unexpected success highlights the film's strong word-of-mouth appeal, making it one of the most talked-about releases in recent times.

Murmur Storyline

A group of Chennai-based paranormal YouTubers ventures into a cursed forest, hoping to document real-time encounters with the "Seven Saptha Kannigal" and a vengeful spirit. However, they mysteriously disappear without a trace, leaving behind only their broken cameras filled with disturbing footage. MurMur unfolds through this haunting recorded evidence, revealing the terrifying events that transpired.

Murmur Crew

Murmur was written and directed by Hemnath Narayanan and produced by Prabakaran under SPK Pictures Private Limited in collaboration with Stand Alone Pictures International. The film's technical crew included DOP Jason Williams, editor Rohith, and sound designer Kewyn Frederick. Hasini Pavithra served as the production designer, while Prakash Ramachandran oversaw costume design. Special makeup was done by Seldon George, with stunts choreographed by Sharp Shankar.

Srivenkatesh handled the film's publicity, with still photography by Theni Anbu and publicity designs by Dinesh Ashok. Marketing was managed by Mak Media Entertainment, while VFX was handled by Rohith and color grading by Raghuraman. Praveen Kumar served as the executive producer, with production overseen by Nagarajan. The direction team included associate director Lakshmi Aaroun and assistant director Harish. DI was completed at Sri Kalasa Studio, with dubbing engineering by Yougpaul Dhanraj.
