Nizharkudai OTT Release: After its theatrical run earlier this month, the Tamil-language drama Nizharkudai is set for its digital debut. The film, which was released in cinemas on May 9, 2025, will begin streaming on Aha Tamil from May 30, 2025. Directed and written by Shiva Arumugam, Nizharkudai features Devayani, Vijjith, and Kanmani Manoharan in key roles.

The story centers around Niranjan and Lancy, a couple who are determined to settle in the United States. As they chase their aspirations, they employ Jothi, a Tamil refugee grappling with her own troubled past, to look after their young daughter, Nila. Over time, a deep emotional bond grows between Jothi and Nila. However, this closeness leads to increasing emotional distance between the child and her biological parents.

As Nila begins to reject her parents' authority and longs to remain with Jothi, tensions within the family rise. In an effort to regain control, Niranjan and Lancy make the painful decision to separate Jothi from Nila. This decision sets off a chain of emotional consequences that force the couple to reflect on the costs of their ambition. The film examines questions of parenthood, emotional neglect, and the consequences of putting dreams ahead of relationships.

Nizharkudai: A Family Drama Streaming from May 30

Devayani plays Jothi, bringing to life a character torn between her past and her new role as a caregiver. Vijjith appears as Niranjan, and Kanmani Manoharan takes on the role of Lancy. The film also features performances by Raj Kapoor, Vadivukkarasi, Ilavarasu, Neelima Rani, Niharika, Ahana, and Dharshan Siva in key supporting roles.

Behind the scenes, the film was produced by Jothisiva under the Dharshan Films banner. RB Gurudev is responsible for the cinematography, Naren Balakumar composed the music, and the editing was carried out by Rolex. Additional contributions include dialogues by Himeshbala, lyrics by Padmaja Sriram, and art direction by Vijay Anand.

Nizharkudai explores familiar but timely themes of modern ambition, emotional caregiving, and familial detachment, framed through the lens of a domestic drama. Viewers who missed its theatrical release will now have the opportunity to watch the film on Aha Tamil starting May 30.
