Paranthu Po Box Office Collection Day 3: Shiva's Road Musical Comedy Ends First Weekend With Upward Trend

Paranthu Po Box Office Collection: The Tamil road musical comedy Paranthu Po, directed by filmmaker Ram and headlined by actor Shiva, has wrapped up its first weekend at the box office with an estimated total of ₹2.35 crore (India net), according to early figures from box office tracking platform Sacnilk.
The film opened on Friday, July 4, and recorded a modest start with ₹0.42 crore. However, word-of-mouth and weekend footfall contributed to a notable rise in collections. On Saturday, Paranthu Po saw a 121.43% jump, collecting around ₹0.93 crore. The upward trend continued on Sunday, with early estimates placing day three's collections at ₹1 crore, marking a 7.53% increase from the previous day.
Father-Son Journey Anchors Road Musical Comedy
The film follows the story of Gokul and his eight-year-old son, Anbu. Gokul, played by Shiva, is an upper-middle-class father juggling modern family responsibilities, while Anbu, portrayed by Mithul Ryan, is a lively and mischievous child. A turn of events sets the duo off on a journey-filled with unexpected encounters, scenic landscapes, and subtle revelations-that becomes both comedic and introspective.
Grace Antony appears as Glory, Gokul's wife and Anbu's mother. The supporting cast includes Anjali, Vijay Yesudas, Aju Varghese, and Jess Kukku. The narrative blends elements of a road movie with family comedy, touching on themes of parenting, freedom, and self-discovery.
Paranthu Po had its premiere earlier this year at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on February 4, before hitting Indian screens on July 4. The film is produced by Ram under Seven Seas and Seven Hills Productions, in association with JioHotstar and GKS Bros Productions.
The technical crew includes cinematographer N.K. Ekambaram and editor Mathi V.S., and the songs were composed by Santhosh Dhayanidhi and the background score by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
As it heads into its first weekday run, the film's performance will depend on how well it sustains audience interest outside the weekend rush. Given the positive word of mouth and steady weekend trend, Paranthu Po may find continued traction in the days ahead.
