Regai OTT Release: The Tamil crime thriller web series Regai has officially premiered on ZEE5 today, November 28, 2025. The six-episode police procedural is written and directed by M. Dhinakaran and is produced by S. Singaravelan under the SS Group banner. The series is adapted from the novel of the same name by noted writer Rajesh Kumar and is available for streaming with English subtitles.

Regai follows officers of the Tamil Nadu Police as they investigate what begins as a routine case but soon escalates into a complex criminal probe. The story is triggered when Sub-Inspector Vetri and his team come across severed human hands concealed inside an ice vending cart. As the investigation deepens, the officers uncover links to illegal medical practices, alleged clinical trial violations, and a broader conspiracy involving staged incidents and cover-ups. The narrative tracks how the case unfolds and the professional and personal consequences it brings for those involved.

Regai Cast And Key Crew

Bala Hasan plays the role of Sub-Inspector Vetri, who leads the investigation. Pavithra Janani appears as Constable Sandhiya, a key member of the police team assisting in the case. Vinodhini Vaidyanathan is seen as Doctor Pushpavalli.

This marks Bala Hasan's return to a limited series format after his earlier appearance in The Game: You Never Play Alone. For Pavithra Janani, Regai represents her first lead role in a web series, following her recent television work and reality show appearances. Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, known for her roles in both films and web projects, plays a crucial role that intersects with the police inquiry.

On the technical side, cinematography is handled by Mahendra M. Hendry, while editing has been done by Dorai. Music and background score are composed by RS Rajpratap. The production is managed by SS Group, which previously collaborated with ZEE5 on Seruppugal Jaakirathai, making Regai Singaravelan's second project with the streaming platform.

With its digital release today, Regai joins ZEE5's growing slate of Tamil originals in the crime and thriller genre. The platform has made all six episodes available for streaming from launch day, allowing viewers to watch the series in one stretch.
