Retro Trailer And Audio Release: The wait is almost over for fans of Suriya and director Karthik Subbaraj, as their much-anticipated film Retro gears up for a grand reveal of its trailer and audio. The makers have officially confirmed that the trailer and audio launch of Retro will take place on April 18 at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, starting from 5 PM onwards. With excitement building steadily, the event is expected to be a star-studded affair, setting the tone for what is touted to be a unique blend of romance, action, and nostalgia.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Stone Bench Creations in association with 2D Entertainment, Retro features Suriya in the role of Paarivel Kannan, with Pooja Hegde portraying Rukmini Paarivel. The film includes a romantic angle for Suriya's character, a space the actor hasn't explored in recent times. The cast also includes Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj, among others. Shriya Saran appears in a song sequence, and composer Santhosh Narayanan makes a brief appearance in the track "Kanimaa."

The film was initially introduced to audiences in March 2024 under the working title Suriya 44, accompanied by the subtitle Love, Laughter, War. The official title Retro was confirmed in December of the same year. Filming took place across multiple locations including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ooty, Kerala, and Chennai, lending the film a varied backdrop.

The crew includes Santhosh Narayanan as the music composer, Shreyaas Krishna overseeing cinematography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali handling editing duties. The technical team also features stunt coordinator Kecha Khamphakdee and choreographer Sherif, among several other key contributors involved in production and design.

Set for a global theatrical release on May 1, 2025, Retro is preparing for its trailer and audio launch.
