Retro Trailer Release Time Revealed: Glimpse Of Suriya-Starrer Karthik Subbaraj Film To Be Unveiled Soon

Retro Trailer Release: The makers of Retro, the upcoming Tamil film starring Suriya and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, have officially announced the trailer release time for the much-anticipated project. According to the latest update, the trailer will be unveiled today at 7 PM, coinciding with the film's audio launch event.

Retro, which blends elements of romance and action, is scheduled for theatrical release on May 1, 2025. The film marks Suriya's 44th project and was initially referred to by its working title, Suriya 44, when it was announced in March 2024. The official title, Retro, was confirmed in December the same year.

Retro Cast And Crew

The story, which remains tightly under wraps, features Suriya as Paarivel Kannan and Pooja Hegde as Rukmini Paarivel. The ensemble cast includes actors such as Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and Sujith Shankar, with child actor Baby Aavni portraying a younger version of Rukmini. Additionally, the film includes special appearances by Shriya Saran in a song sequence and composer Santhosh Narayanan, who makes a cameo in the track "Kanimaa."

Directed and written by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro is a collaboration between 2D Entertainment and Stone Bench Creations, with production led by Jyotika and Suriya. Filming began in June 2024 and concluded by early October, with scenes shot across diverse locations such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ooty, Kerala, and Chennai.

The technical crew includes Santhosh Narayanan as the music composer, Shreyaas Krishna handling cinematography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali in charge of editing. The film's art direction was managed by Jacki and Mayapandi, with Kecha Khamphakdee overseeing stunt choreography.

The promotional campaign for Retro has been steadily building momentum in recent weeks, and today's trailer and audio launch are expected to offer a clearer picture of the film's tone and narrative. With just under two weeks left for the theatrical release, the trailer launch is positioned as a key step in the final phase of promotions.
