Retro Trailer Records: Suriya's exciting and hyped upcoming romantic action-thriller by Karthik Subbaraj is 'Retro.' With vintage vibes screaming all over the film, the teaser, songs, and now the theatrical trailer, the 'Kanguva' actor is looking stylish and charming. The movie which stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead in a demure look is going to be released worldwide on May 1. Retro is the first ever collaboration between Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj, which is making the movie's release a bit more exciting for the actor's fans. The unique trailer of Retro cut became the talk of the industry.

Suriya's 'Retro' produced jointly by Suriya's 2D Entertainment banner and Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films, will hit the screens in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi at a time. Ahead of the film's grand debut, the makers organized a mammoth-sized audio release event which also marked its theatrical trailer release. The glimpse met with highly positive reviews and the anticipation grew manifold. Santhosh Narayanan's music and score for the film has been already winning appreciation from music lovers, fans, and critics. Suriya's Retro Completes Censor Formalities

As per the recent update, Suriya's Retro movie completed the crucial censor formalities and passed out with a decent 'U/A' certificate. The movie's runtime is locked at 168 minutes (2 Hours 48 Mins).

By the time of this report, two hours after the theatrical trailer was released online on social media platforms and YouTube, Suriya film's Tamil version glimpse earned 1.17 million views and 161K likes. The Telugu trailer of Retro earned 3.39 lakh views with 33K likes.

Retro: Production, Cast, & Crew

The Retro movie was first announced in March 2024 and is the actor's 44th film. With a subtitle that reads 'Love, Laughter, War' the movie's shooting was completed in five months from June. The makers announced the wrap in October.

The unit shot across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Chennai, and Ooty for this gangster action thriller with a heavy romantic undertone. The movie was first scheduled to hit the screens in March but was later moved to May 1.

Suriya plays Paarivel Kannan while Pooja Hegde plays Rukmini Paarivel, his love interest and wife. In addition, Joju George as Paarivel's father, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, Singampuli, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Uday Mahesh, Avinash Raghudevan, Tarak Ponnappa, Vidhu, Tamizh, Sandeep Raj, Nandita Das, Remya Suresh, George Maryan, and MD Asif was seen in pivotal roles. Shriya Saran shook her leg with Suriya for a special item song while SaNa was also featured in the song 'Kanimaa' in a cameo. Shreyaas Krishna cranked the camera and Shafique Mohamed Ali worked as the film's editor.
