Sattamum Needhiyum OTT Release: After a considerable hiatus from lead roles, actor Saravanan is set to make his comeback with Sattamum Needhiyum, a Tamil courtroom drama series premiering on ZEE5 on July 18, 2025. The release also marks Saravanan's 34th year in the Tamil film industry, since his debut in 1991. Sattamum Needhiyum features his return to a lead role after 15 years.

Courtroom Drama Set to Stream from July 18 on ZEE5

The series follows the story of Sundaramoorthy, a soft-spoken and hesitant lawyer who finds himself drawn into a high-stakes legal battle after a man self-immolates outside the court, demanding justice for his abducted daughter. As the case unfolds, Sundaramoorthy must navigate the complex world of law and morality while confronting his own fears and insecurities.

Directed by Balaji Selvaraj, Sattamum Needhiyum is created by Sooriya Prathap S, who also serves as the showrunner and writer. The project is backed by producer Sasikala Prabhakaran under the 18 Creators banner. The technical crew includes S Gokulakrishnan as the director of photography, Vibin Baskar handling the music, and Raavanan taking care of the editing. Bhavna Govardhan serves as the art director, while sound design is managed by Hariharan of H Studios.

Joining Saravanan in the cast are Namritha, Aroul D Shankar, Shanmugham, Thiruselvam, Vijayashree, and Iniya Ram. Each plays a key role in the narrative, which is said to explore themes of justice, institutional power, and personal redemption.

The production has been in the works for several months and includes a detailed creative and technical team, such as costume stylist Maria Milan, visual effects supervisor Kiran Raghavan, and colorist SK from Pixel ARTS. Publicity efforts are handled by Triland Animation Studios.
