According to film industry tracker AB George, the film has already grossed approximately ₹18 crore in advance ticket sales, with India contributing ₹7.5 crore and overseas markets adding over ₹10 crore. Bookings are reportedly headed towards the ₹20 crore mark, indicating significant anticipation around the film.

Thug Life, co-written by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, is a Tamil gangster action drama and marks the pair's return to collaboration after nearly four decades. Their previous outing, Nayakan (1987), remains one of Tamil cinema's most critically acclaimed films.

The ensemble cast includes Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nasser, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Ali Fazal. The production is a collaboration between Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies.
