Thug Life Morning Occupancy Day 1: Kamal Haasan aces the art of making headlines and there are no second thoughts about it. After creating an uproar with his remark regarding Kannada language, he is now here with his first release of the year 2025. We are talking about Thug Life. The movie marks Kamal Haasan's 234th film as a lead. The gangster action drama is helmed by Mani Ratnam and also happens to be his reunion with the filmmaker after 38 years.

Interestingly, Thug Life features an interesting ensemble of cast which also includes Abhirami, Trisha Krishnan, Silambarasan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf and Baburaj in the lead. The movie happens to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year and managed to create a huge buzz in the town after the release of its intriguing trailer. However, despite a massive buzz, Thug Life failed to witness an impressive footfall on the day of release

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Thug Life recorded an occupancy of 50.66% during the morning shows on the day of its release.

Thug Life Fails To Beat Good Bad Ugly & Retro

Interestingly, Thug Life has failed to beat the opening day occupancy (morning shows) of Ajith starrer Good Bad Ugly which was 73.14% and Suriya's Retro which 75.91% during morning shows with a huge gap

Meanwhile, in an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, Kamal Haasan had revealed that Thug Life is based on his script Amar Hai. "I finished a script and it was called Amar Hai, which was a pun. A man who is believed to be dead is not dead. His name is Amar, and that's the problem. Mani took it as an idea and went on to enhance it," the actor added.
