Thug Life is written by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, with the former also directing the film. Produced under the banners of Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, the film is set for a global theatrical release on June 5, 2025.

The ensemble cast includes Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Sanya Malhotra, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Saraf, and Vaiyapuri. Principal photography began in January 2024 and took place across various locations including Chennai, Kanchipuram, Pondicherry, New Delhi, and parts of North India.
