Directed by Mani Ratnam and headlined by Kamal Haasan, Thug Life is all set to hit cinemas on June 5, 2025. Ever since the trailer of the upcoming Tamil actioner dropped online, Kamal Haasan's kissing scene with Abhirami and his romantic scene with Trisha sparked an intense debate online, garnering backlash from netizens.

One of the Reddit users took screenshots of 70-year-old Kamal Haasan's intimate scenes with his Thug Life co-actresses Trisha Krishnan and Abhirami, who are much younger to him, from the trailer and shared them on the website with a caption that read, "Noo god please no (sic)"

Reacting to the post, one of the users wrote, "Trisha is just 3 years older than shruthi hassan btw", while another one commented, "Abhirami and Kamal sharing a lip lock with a 30 year old difference seems odd. However, I suppose the movie portrays their age gap to be small rather than their actual age."
