Tourist Family Box Office Collection Day 7 Prediction: Sasikumar-Simran Film Maintains Momentum Midweek

Tourist Family Box Office Collection Prediction: Released on May 1, Tourist Family has had a steady run at the Tamil Nadu box office, with weekday collections showing only marginal dips. The film, directed by first-time filmmaker Abishan Jeevinth, stars M. Sasikumar and Simran as members of a Sri Lankan Tamil family navigating life as refugees in Chennai. The film premiered on April 29 and officially hit theaters two days later, timed with the May Day holiday.
Tourist Family Box Office Collection Day 7 Prediction

Day-wise India Net Collection

Day 2 [Friday]: ₹1.7 crore

Day 5 [Monday]: ₹2.55 crore
Day 6 [Tuesday]: ₹ 2.5 crore
Day 7 [Wednesday]: ₹ 2.4 crore (based on data reported by Sacnilk)
Total Net Collection : ₹ 17.6 crore
The film's narrative, set against the aftermath of the Sri Lankan economic crisis, has found some traction among audiences in Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala, where its midweek performance has led to the addition of extra shows in some locations.
According to box office tracker Cinetrak, Tourist Family maintained a strong weekday hold in Tamil Nadu and took the lead over the Suriya-starrer Retro on its first Tuesday, based on tracked cinema data. While Retro dropped 33% from Monday to collect ₹1.46 crore, Tourist Family saw only a 4% dip from its Monday figure of ₹2.17 crore, earning ₹2.08 crore on Tuesday.
Industry tracker AB George observed that Tuesday marked the film's best day in Kerala, with favorable word-of-mouth prompting exhibitors to add more shows and expand its screen count. This marks a significant outcome for a Tamil film that arrived with modest pre-release expectations.
With Wednesday's collection expected to bring the total over ₹16 crore, Tourist Family enters its second week with some momentum. While it is yet to cross the ₹20 crore mark, the film's performance has remained consistent-particularly noteworthy for a project led by a debutant director and focused on a refugee narrative.
Whether the film sustains its pace into the second week may depend on how newer releases perform and if the word-of-mouth continues to hold strong across regions.
