Tourist Family Tamil Nadu Box Office 15 Days Collection: Sasikumar And Simran's Film Crosses ₹45 Crore Mark

Tourist Family Tamil Nadu Box Office Collection: Tourist Family, the Tamil drama directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, has completed 15 days in theaters as of Thursday, May 15, and continues its theatrical run in Tamil Nadu. The film, which opened on May 1, has reportedly grossed over ₹45 crore in the state across its first 15 days, according to trade tracker AB George.
M. Sasikumar and Simran play the lead roles in this film, which tells the tale of a Sri Lankan Tamil family who, facing an economic crisis in their homeland, find themselves seeking safety and a new life in Chennai. Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, and Yogi Babu also play pivotal roles, with supporting performances from M.S. Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi.
Set against a backdrop of displacement and uncertainty, the film portrays how the family attempts to blend into a new environment while trying to stay under the radar. As their past threatens to resurface through an unfolding police investigation, the story examines questions of belonging, survival, and community.
The production of Tourist Family was handled by Million Dollar Studios in collaboration with MRP Entertainment. The film was initially announced in September 2024 under the working title Production No. 5. The official title was revealed later in December.
Tourist Family Maintains Momentum Amid New Releases
The technical crew includes Sean Roldan as the music composer, Aravind Viswanathan handling cinematography, and Barath Vikraman as the editor. The art direction was led by Raj Kamal, while production responsibilities were managed by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan.
As Tourist Family enters its third weekend, its sustained box office performance over the first 15 days indicates continued audience interest in Tamil Nadu. With new releases now in theaters, the film's hold will be tested further, but its current run suggests a steady reception so far.
The film's thematic focus on migration and identity seems to have struck a chord, contributing to its sustained theatrical run. With limited competition from Tamil-language releases in the first half of May, Tourist Family benefited from relatively open ground during its initial two weeks.
