According to the reports, the movie is made on Rs. 50 Cr budget, and the movie has recovered only 1% of the budget so far. It is to see if the movie is able to recover its budget and make a profit.

Recently director Bala was under the limelight for hitting actress Mamitha Baiju on Vanangaan set. Speaking about it to Galatta Tamil, Bala addressed the allegations and said, "I don't like unnecessary makeup. On that day, the makeup artist brought in from Bombay was working on the film. Mamitha didn't have a shot at that time and was sitting idle. The makeup artist, unaware of my preferences, applied makeup to her. Mamitha didn't know to tell them about my preferences either. When I called her to get ready for the shot, she came with makeup on. I asked who applied it and gestured in frustration, almost like waving my hand. When the news came out, it was twisted to say that I hit her. This is what actually happened."
