As per reports, Vikram Sugumaran passed away due to a sudden heart attack. Apparently, he was returning home from Madurai on a bus when he suffered a cardiac arrest.

As per Filmibeat Tamil, the late Tamil director's last rites will be held today (Monday, June 2) at his residence in Sengunram, followed by his funeral.

Who Was Vikram Sugumaran?

Born in Tamil Nadu, Vikram Sugumaran made his directorial debut back in 2013 with 'Madha Yaanai Koottam'. His last film was 'Raava Kottam' which was released in 2023. According to a report by NETTV4U, Vikram turned 55 years old earlier in January this year. Besides directing films, he also acted in films like 'Polladhavan' and 'Kodi Veeran'.

Originally hailing from Ramanathapuram, Vikram Sugumaran had come to Chennai with the ambition of becoming an actor, as reported by Zee News. Later, he started working with Balu Mahendra as an assistant. He was also the dialogue writer for the national Award-winning Tamil film 'Aadukalam' (2011). Details about his marital status are not available on the internet as of now.
