Srikanth Remanded In Drug Case: Tamil actor Srikanth is currently in judicial custody until July 7 in connection with a narcotics investigation. Amidst this, his personal life - particularly his relationship with his wife, Vandana Srikanth, has resurfaced in public discussions.

Srikanth, known for his work in Tamil and Telugu cinema, has been in the spotlight this week following his arrest by Greater Chennai Police. According to NDTV, the actor was questioned for several hours at the Nungambakkam police station before being formally detained. The arrest reportedly stems from a broader investigation into a drug network that came to light after a bar brawl involving a former AIADMK functionary. Police sources allege that Srikanth had purchased and used cocaine, and his medical test results reportedly confirmed drug use.

Marriage Controversy From Past Resurfaces in Wake of Drug Case

Amid these developments, social media users and fans have turned their attention to Srikanth's family. As per reports, his wife, Vandana Srikanth, is the daughter of an industrialist and an MBA graduate from Australia. The couple got married on September 7, 2008, and are parents to two children.

The couple's marriage, however, was not without complications. According to Times Now report, Srikanth and Vandana's relationship initially had the consent of both families. But things reportedly changed after Srikanth's parents discovered that Vandana and her family were named in a few legal disputes related to land matters. Following this, the actor's parents withdrew their support for the marriage.

Despite the opposition, Srikanth and Vandana went ahead with registering their marriage, reportedly with her family's approval and without informing his parents. According to the Times Now report, the situation escalated when Srikanth later denied the marriage, stating, "Our marriage never consummated. I went in for a register marriage as I loved her and was hopeful of convincing my parents." He also alleged that Vandana had visited his home with individuals he described as intimidating, which led him to seek police protection for himself and his parents.

Eventually, after legal proceedings and counselling, the couple reconciled and have continued their marriage since. They have chosen to keep their family life largely private in the years that followed.

Srikanth, 46, has acted in over 50 films in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Some of his notable works include Roja Kootam, Parthiban Kanavu, and Nanban. While his recent film appearances have been infrequent, he has remained a known face in South Indian cinema.

The investigation is ongoing. Neither Srikanth nor his family has issued a formal statement at the time of publication, and further updates are awaited.
