Anbe Diana Early Review: Pari Elavazhagan's Romantic Family Entertainer Called A 'Clean Feel-Good' Film
Anbe Diana Early Review: Anbe Diana, the upcoming Tamil romantic comedy-drama written, directed by, and starring Pari Elavazhagan, is all set to arrive in theatres on July 17, 2026. Ahead of its theatrical release, film trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai shared his first impressions of the film on X, calling it a romantic family entertainer and giving it a rating of 3.5 out of 5.

According to Sreedhar Pillai's post, he found Anbe Diana to be a clean, feel-good family romcom that keeps viewers engaged until the end. He said the film tells a cross-cultural love story between a Hindu boy from a conservative background and an Anglo-Indian girl. He also noted that Perambur forms the backbone of the narrative, with its well-known landmarks adding to the film's setting and story.
In his early reaction, Pillai said Pari Elavazhagan had done a decent job as both actor and director, while describing Ramya Ranganathan as "pure magic" on screen. He added that Roja, Chetan, and Parithabangal Gopi provide solid support. Although he felt the film could have been crisper, he concluded that it is an enjoyable family entertainer with a message about what happens when two people from contrasting backgrounds and cultures fall in love.
It is worth noting that these remarks reflect Sreedhar Pillai's personal opinion shared on social media before the film's public release. Audiences will be able to form their own views once Anbe Diana reaches theatres on Friday.
