Blast Box Office Collection Day 17: Blast, the Tamil martial arts thriller headlined by Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan, witnessed a notable increase in collections on its third Saturday. The film, which arrived in theatres on May 28, has continued its run into the third week and remains active at the box office as Day 18 collections are currently underway on June 14.

Blast Box Office Collection Day 17 Crosses 65 Cr Worldwide

Directed by debutant Subash K. Raj and backed by AGS Entertainment, Blast revolves around a family of karate practitioners who find themselves facing a powerful corporate syndicate. As the conflict escalates, the family is forced to rely on their martial arts skills to defend themselves and confront the threat standing in their way.

According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, Blast earned an estimated ₹2.99 crore net in India on Day 17. The collection marks a significant improvement from the ₹1.30 crore net reported on Day 16, suggesting stronger audience turnout over the weekend.

With the latest figures, the film's total India net collection has reached ₹44.73 crore. The India gross collection stands at ₹51.43 crore after 17 days in theatres. Overseas markets have also contributed to the film's performance, with cumulative international earnings touching ₹14.05 crore gross. This takes the movie's worldwide gross collection to approximately ₹65.48 crore.

The film had concluded its first week with ₹25.78 crore in India net collections before adding another ₹14.66 crore during its second week. While weekday collections slowed down in the third week, the jump on Saturday provided a boost to the overall tally.

Third Saturday Brings Fresh Momentum

The Day 17 collection came from 1,586 shows across the country and was accompanied by an overall occupancy of 27 percent. This represented a noticeable rise compared to the previous day and indicates that weekend audiences continue to support the film despite newer releases entering the market.

Earlier in its theatrical run, Blast registered its strongest numbers during the opening weekend, collecting ₹4.55 crore on its first Saturday and ₹6 crore on its first Sunday. The second weekend also delivered healthy gains, with collections reaching ₹3.50 crore on Day 10 and ₹4.35 crore on Day 11.

Featuring Arjun in the lead role, the film also stars Abhirami, Preity Mukhundhan, John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram and Pawan Krishnaa in key roles. The screenplay and direction have been handled by Subash K. Raj, while Ravi Basrur composed the music. The technical crew includes cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan and editor Pradeep E. Ragav.

As the film enters another weekend day, attention will now shift to its Day 18 performance. Trade observers will be watching to see whether the Sunday collections can build on Saturday's growth and help Blast continue its box-office journey through the third week.
