Blast Box Office Collection Day 8: Arjun, Abhirami And Preity Mukhundhan's Film Nears ₹37 Cr Worldwide Gross

Blast Box Office Collection Day 8: The Tamil martial arts thriller Blast, starring Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan, continues its theatrical run more than a week after its release. The film, which hit cinemas on May 28, 2026, has added another day of collections to its tally as it heads into its second weekend.

Blast Box Office Collection Day 8 Nears 37 Cr Worldwide

Directed by debutant filmmaker Subash K. Raj and produced by AGS Entertainment, Blast recorded an estimated ₹2.03 crore net in India on Day 8, according to box office tracking website Sacnilk. With this, the film's cumulative India net collection has reached ₹25.78 crore.

The latest figures indicate that the film's domestic gross collection now stands at approximately ₹29.63 crore. In overseas territories, Blast has reportedly earned around ₹7.30 crore gross, taking its worldwide gross collection to ₹36.93 crore after eight days in theatres.

The Tamil version accounted for the majority of the film's collections. On its eighth day, the Tamil release contributed an estimated ₹2 crore net, while the Telugu version added around ₹0.03 crore net. The Tamil version also registered a higher occupancy rate, accounting for the majority of the film's audience turnout.

Sacnilk data shows that Blast was screened in more than 2,250 shows on Day 8 and recorded an overall occupancy of roughly 23.8 percent. The Tamil version posted occupancy of around 25 percent across more than 2,000 shows, while the Telugu version recorded occupancy of approximately 12 percent.

Looking at the film's box office journey, Blast witnessed growth over its opening weekend. After opening with ₹1.25 crore on its first day, collections increased over the next few days, peaking on Sunday with an estimated ₹6 crore net. The film then settled into a steadier weekday run, collecting between ₹2 crore and ₹4 crore per day.

Blast Storyline, Cast and Crew

The movie revolves around Rajaram, a karate practitioner living a quiet life with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila. When their family becomes entangled in a conflict involving a powerful corporate group and a dangerous assassin, they are forced to rely on their martial arts skills to protect themselves and confront the threat.

Apart from Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan, the film features John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram and Pawan Krishnaa in key roles. The project marks the directorial debut of Subash K. Raj. The technical team includes music composer Ravi Basrur, cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan, editor Pradeep E. Ragav and production designer Veeramani Ganesan.

Industry watchers will now be tracking whether the film can build further momentum during its second weekend and push its overall box office total higher.
