Blast Box Office Collection Day 1 (Early Update): Tamil action thriller Blast (2026) created strong excitement among movie fans before and after its theatrical release. Directed by debut filmmaker Subash K Raj, the film starred Arjun Sarja, Abhirami, and Preity Mukhundhan in the lead roles. The supporting cast included John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram, and Pawan Krishnaa.

To note, Blast follows a middle-class family trained in martial arts whose peaceful life changed after they became trapped in a dangerous conflict with a violent gang. Arjun Sarja plays a karate master who raised his daughter to fight fearlessly against injustice. The film combined family emotions with intense action sequences and revenge-driven drama.

The buzz around Blast remained high from the time its teaser and trailer were released online. Fans praised the stylish visuals, Ravi Basrur's energetic background score, and Arjun Sarja's powerful screen presence. Social media users described the film as a "mass entertainer" packed with action and emotional moments. Preity Mukhundhan's performance also received positive attention from audiences.

Blast Evening Occupancy Day 1

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Blast has recorded an occupancy of 26.92% during evening shows on day 1 (first Thursday). To note, the movie failed to beat the evening occupancy of Vidaamuyarchi on opening day which happens to be 53.69%

To note, Blast failed to earn Rs 1cr until 8pm. In fact, it minted just Rs 60 lakhs on opening day and will struggling to touch Rs 1cr mark on opening day. It is evident that Blast will fail to beat Vidaamuyarchi opening day collection which happens to be Rs 26cr in India

Meanwhile, talking about Blast, Preity told The New Indian Express, "It feels amazing to be able to put my work out there through a film where I'm not just a supporting presence but a literally strong character. While I have access to many new-gen scripts, many of these roles barely have any impact on the story. Even when you ask the director for clarity on the character's emotions, they would answer vaguely, saying, 'It's okay...no matter what you do, it won't create much impact'".
