Gatta Kusthi 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi's Gatta Kusthi 2 continued its theatrical run with a noticeable jump in collections on its second day. Released in cinemas on July 3, 2026, the Tamil sports romantic comedy registered stronger business on Saturday after opening on Friday. With its first weekend still underway, attention has now shifted to the film's Sunday performance, which is expected to determine how successfully it closes its opening weekend.

According to trade tracking platform Sacnilk, Gatta Kusthi 2 collected an estimated ₹4.75 crore India net on Day 2. The film had opened with ₹2.70 crore on Friday, taking its two-day India net collection to ₹7.45 crore.

As per Sacnilk data, the film recorded an overall occupancy of around 26% across 2,109 shows on its opening day. The figure climbed to 38% on Saturday, while the number of shows increased to 2,177. The film recorded higher collections on Saturday than on its opening day.

Beyond the domestic market, the sequel also added to its overseas earnings. As per the available estimates, Gatta Kusthi 2 earned ₹1 crore overseas on Day 2, taking its international gross to ₹1.85 crore after two days. Combined with its India gross collections, the film's worldwide gross now stands at approximately ₹10.42 crore.

With Day 3 (Sunday, July 5) collections currently in progress, industry observers will be watching whether the film can maintain its upward trend and deliver a stronger opening weekend. Sunday business often plays a significant role in shaping a film's first-week momentum before weekday collections begin.

Written and directed by Chella Ayyavu, Gatta Kusthi 2 serves as the sequel to the 2022 film Gatta Kusthi. The film has been jointly produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, Vishnu Vishal, and Ishan Saksena under the banners Vels Film International, Vishnu Vishal Studioz, and IVY Entertainment.

The film features Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles, while Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Karunakaran, Zara, and Mokksha appear in supporting parts.

The story revolves around a stay-at-home husband whose commitment to his family is tested when misunderstandings and societal expectations begin to disrupt his life. Blending family drama with romance, comedy and sports elements, the sequel continues the narrative established in the original film.
