GDN Release Date Update: R Madhavan's upcoming Tamil film GDN has received a fresh update, with the makers indicating that an official release date announcement is on the way. The production team unveiled a new poster carrying the message, 'Release Date Announcement Coming Soon!', signalling that the theatrical release plans will be revealed shortly.

The newly released poster features the film's title along with the tagline "Based on a True Story", while also highlighting its multilingual release. Apart from Tamil, GDN is scheduled to be released in dubbed versions in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi, allowing the film to reach audiences across multiple regions.

Although the makers have not officially confirmed the release date yet, BookMyShow currently lists the film with an August 7, 2026 release date. However, audiences will have to wait for the production team to make the official announcement.

Produced by Varghese Moolan Pictures in association with Tricolour Films, GDN is a biographical drama inspired by the life of legendary Indian inventor and industrialist G. D. Naidu.

The film is written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, while the screenplay has been jointly developed by the director and R Madhavan. The music has been composed by Govind Vasantha.

Alongside R Madhavan, the film features an extensive supporting cast that includes Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Vinay Rai, Thambi Ramaiah, Nandalal, TeeJay Arunasalam, Sheela, Karunakaran, Muralidaran, Aditi Balan, Mohan Raman, Kaniha, Ramesh Tilak, Carl Andrew Harte and Richard Bhakti Klein, among others.

The story examines the challenges faced by a pioneering inventor whose ambitions often clashed with the systems around him, while drawing from documented real-life incidents.
