In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Sanjana opened up about her film Hotspot 2 Much and revealed if she was nervous before the release. She also spilled the beans about her upcoming projects including a Bollywood film. Was Sanjana feeling the 'pressure of carrying the legacy of Hot Spot' in the sequel? Here's what she has to say!

1- Wishing you a very happy New Year. You have started 2026 on a grand note with the release of Hotspot 2 Much. What's the feeling like? Are you nervous or excited?

Ans- It honestly feels like a mix of excitement and gratitude. Starting the year with a release always feels special, and Hotspot 2 Much has been a very interesting project to be a part of. There's always a little nervousness before the audience watches your work, but more than that, I'm excited for the conversations the film might spark.

2- You have earned praise for your character development as it is relatable to the GenZ. What's your thought process while selecting roles?

Ans- I don't really have a fixed formula while choosing roles. My main intention is to do something different with each project. I want to explore various kinds of characters and genres, and not limit myself to one space. If a role excites me or challenges me in some way, I'm open to taking that leap.

3- Considering Hotspot 2 Much is a sequel, do you feel the pressure of carrying forward the legacy of the first part?

Ans- Honestly, I didn't feel much pressure. My focus was only on doing justice to my character. Once I heard the full script, I felt confident about the way Hotspot 2 Much was written and handled. I believed the film as a whole would stand strong on its own, so I trusted the process and the vision.

4- The film focuses on clash between generations and how it is something that we need to address. Have you ever faced a clash in your family circle when it came to expressing an opinion?

Ans- I think most families experience this at some point. I've definitely had moments growing up where my thoughts clashed with my parents. But with time, communication, and understanding, we grew together. Today, my parents are my biggest supporters, and that journey has been very important for me personally.

5- This is your third Tamil, and your performance arc has already intensified. What's your approach towards the roles? When did the acting bug bite you?

Ans- I try to approach every role with honesty and openness to learn. I consciously look at how I can grow with every project. Acting interested me from a very young age, and over time it became something I wanted to pursue seriously. Each film has taught me something new, and I'm still learning every day.

6- What are your upcoming projects that the audience can look forward to?

Ans- I have a Hindi feature film coming up where I'm playing the lead, and that's something I'm really excited about. It's a different space for me, and I'm looking forward to sharing more details at the right time.
