Jana Nayagan Box Office Collection Day 6: Thalapathy Vijay's last film Jana Nayagan, which finally saw the light of the day after much delay in certification, has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a political action drama which comes with a stellar cast of Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju alongside Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani.

To note, the movie marks Thalapathy Vijay's last appearance on the big screen before his full fledged entry into politics and finally emerging as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Interestingly, Jana Nayagan not just marks Thalapathy Vijay's first collaboration with Bobby Deol, it also happens to be the second movie of a sitting CM hitting the screens after the 1977 release Meenava Nanban starring M G Ramachandran. Opened amid massive buzz and mixed reviews, Jana Nayagan, which was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and witnessed an impressive hold during the opening weekend. However, the first Monday came with a massive dip in numbers for the movie.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan saw a massive dip in footfalls during morning shows on day 6 (first Monday) as compared to Monday and recorded an occupancy of 19.08%.

To note, Jana Nayagan, which made a collection of Rs 10.15cr on day 5 (first Monday), is expected to see a steady hold in numbers given the trends. The movie is expected to mint Rs 8-10cr on day 6 (first Tuesday) and will be struggling to touch Rs 150cr mark. In fact, it had earned Rs 1.33cr until 1pm today taking the overall collection to Rs 136.23cr.

Meanwhile, director H Vinoth is all praises for Thalapathy Vijay who is now the CM of Tamil Nadu and told NDTV, "He has very good intentions. When he speaks about social and political issues like women's empowerment, women's safety, and corruption, he genuinely believes in what he is saying and wants to do good for the people".
