Jana Nayagan Box Office Collection Day 4: It's a bitter sweet feeling for Thalapathy Vijay's massive fan following across the world. After all, the megastar's swansong Jana Nayagan has finally hit the screens lately after much delay and it has undoubtedly left everyone brimming with an opinion. Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a political action drama and happens to be Vijay's last film before he ventured into politics and became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Opened to mixed reviews, Jana Nayagan witnessed a grand start at the domestic box office.

For the uninitiated, Jana Nayagan stars Thalapathy Vijay, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju in the lead role alongside Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani. Interestingly, it happens to be the remake of the 2023 release Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. While Jana Nayagan witnessed a long battle over certification from the censor board, the movie witnessed a strong performance at the Indian box office post release especially during the weekend. It is important to mention that Jana Nayagan had released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan made a collection of Rs 32cr (including Rs 27.3cr in Tamil, Rs 3.35cr in Hindi and Rs 1.35cr in Telugu) on day 4 (first Sunday) in India. As a result, Jana Nayagan entered the coveted Rs 100cr club as the total collection emerged as Rs 124.75cr after 4 days of release.

Jana Nayagan Beats Karuppu To Create A Record

With a collection of Rs 124.75cr post the opening weekend, Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan has managed to beat Suriya's Karuppu to record the highest opening weekend in 2026 for a Tamil movie. For the uninitiated, Karuppu made a collection of Rs 113.85 crore post its opening weekend.

Meanwhile, director H Vinoth is all praises for Thalapathy Vijay who is now the CM of Tamil Nadu and told NDTV, "He has very good intentions. When he speaks about social and political issues like women's empowerment, women's safety, and corruption, he genuinely believes in what he is saying and wants to do good for the people".
