Jana Nayagan FDFS: Vijay Movie Early Morning Shows Across Key Centers And Runtime Details Emerge
Jana Nayagan FDFS: With just days to go for its theatrical debut, Jana Nayagan, the upcoming Tamil political action thriller headlined by Vijay, is steadily moving into its final phase of release preparations. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. As of January 6, updates surrounding certification, runtime, and First Day First Show (FDFS) timings have begun to shape expectations across regions.

Earlier reports had indicated a delay in advance booking within Tamil Nadu due to the film awaiting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This led to ticket sales remaining unopened in the state even as the release date approached. However, according to a recent post by film industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai on X, the censor process is nearing completion. The post stated that Jana Nayagan has a confirmed runtime of 3 hours, 3 minutes, and 43 seconds, with official advance booking expected to begin once the censor certificate is issued.
Another industry tracker, Christopher Kanagaraj, shared details on X outlining the film's structure, with the first half running for approximately 1 hour and 28 minutes, followed by a second half of around 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Meanwhile, advance booking has already commenced in select markets outside the state. Ticket sales are open in Karnataka, Kerala, and Mumbai, along with overseas territories including the United States. In the US, premiere shows are scheduled for January 8, a day ahead of the domestic release. In India, early morning FDFS screenings have been planned across major cities. Mumbai is set to host a 4:00 am show on January 9, while Bengaluru and Kochi will see their first shows at 6:05 am.
Jana Nayagan Overview
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain. Notably, Jana Nayagan is positioned as Vijay's final on-screen appearance before his anticipated full-time entry into politics, a factor that has drawn significant attention to the project.
On the technical front, the film brings together a familiar team. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav. The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana, with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N.K. serving as co-producers.
