Jana Nayagan Leak Case: 3 More Arrested As Cyber Crime Probe Reveals Fresh Details On Vijay Film Piracy

Jana Nayagan Leak Case: The investigation into the leak of Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, has taken a significant turn with the arrest of three additional suspects, including a freelance assistant editor allegedly linked to the source of the leak. The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing carried out the arrests on April 15 as part of its ongoing crackdown on the unauthorised circulation of the film.

Jana Nayagan Leak 3 Arrested As Probe Into Piracy Deepens

According to a report by India Today, the latest arrests are connected to the earlier case that had already seen six individuals taken into custody for distributing pirated versions of the film online. With these developments, the focus of the investigation has shifted towards identifying how the film's footage was initially accessed and leaked.

Officials believe the primary accused, who was reportedly working as a freelance assistant editor on a separate project, gained unauthorised access to Jana Nayagan footage at an editing facility. Investigators suspect that the individual copied portions of the film, processed the material into a complete version, and shared it with others, which eventually led to its rapid spread across piracy platforms.

The three accused have since been produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody, while further inquiries continue to track the chain of distribution. Authorities are examining digital evidence and communication trails to determine the extent of the network involved in circulating the leaked content.

Jana Nayagan Leak: HC Order, Piracy Crackdown And Certification Issues

The incident follows the emergence of high-definition clips from the film on April 9, just days before it was expected to move closer to certification clearance. Soon after, reports suggested that the full film had surfaced on several illegal websites, raising concerns within the industry.

In response to the leak, the Madras High Court recently issued an interim order restraining internet service providers and cable operators from streaming or broadcasting any unauthorised or uncertified versions of the film. The directive is aimed at limiting further dissemination while the investigation is underway.

The Cyber Crime Wing has also taken steps to remove a large number of infringing links from the internet and continues to monitor digital platforms for new uploads. Officials have reiterated that accessing or sharing pirated content is a punishable offence and have urged the public to report such activity through official channels.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan has been facing multiple challenges in recent weeks, including certification delays and piracy-related issues. The film is expected to mark Vijay's transition from cinema to full-time politics.
