Jana Nayagan Movie Leak Case: How A Freelance Editor Allegedly Accessed Film Footage
Jana Nayagan Movie Leak Case: The investigation into the Jana Nayagan leak has revealed new details about how the film's footage was allegedly accessed and circulated online. The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing, in an official press release dated April 16, confirmed that three key accused have been arrested in connection with the case, which pertains to the unauthorised dissemination of the film.

According to the statement, the arrests were made on April 15 following a technical analysis of digital evidence linked to the leak. The case, registered earlier this month, is being probed under Crime No. 47/2026 in connection with the online circulation of pirated content related to the film. The latest development follows the earlier arrest of six individuals allegedly involved in uploading and sharing the pirated version.
The Cyber Crime Wing stated that the primary accused was working as a freelance assistant editor on another film project. Investigators allege that the individual gained unauthorised access to the reels of Jana Nayagan at an editing studio. The footage was then reportedly copied without permission.
Officials further indicated that the accessed data was processed into a complete version of the film. It was allegedly shared with other individuals, which contributed to the wider circulation of pirated copies across online platforms. All three accused have been produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
