K Rajan worked in Tamil cinema for decades as a producer, writer, director and actor. Rajan entered film production with Brammacharigal in 1983. Rajan's production credits include Doubles, Aval Paavam and Ninaikatha Naaliai, which are still remembered by audiences. These projects helped establish Rajan as a steady presence in the production space. Rajan moved to direction in 1991 with Namma Ooru Maariamma, featuring Nizhalgal Ravi and Sarathkumar. Rajan later directed Unarchigal in 2005. As a writer, Rajan penned the stories for Thangamana Thangachi and Unarchigal, further widening creative involvement in Tamil cinema.
