Kara Box Office Collection Prediction: The Tamil film Kara, starring Dhanush in the lead role, has hit theatres on April 30, 2026. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the action thriller arrives with steady advance booking figures across multiple regions, offering an early indication of its potential opening-day performance.

According to box office tracker Jerin Georgekutty, Kara recorded combined domestic advance bookings of approximately ₹3.55 crore as of 7 AM on release day. Tamil Nadu accounted for the largest share at around ₹2.34 crore, followed by contributions from the Telugu states, Karnataka, and Kerala. Overseas pre-sales stood at about ₹78 lakh, taking the total worldwide advance to roughly ₹4.33 crore.
Based on these figures, early trade expectations suggest that the film could aim for a Day 1 worldwide opening in the ₹10 crore range or higher, provided initial audience response remains favourable. The projections remain conditional, with the final outcome depending on word of mouth and occupancy levels through the day.
Kara Plot, Cast And Crew Details
Kara is set in Ramanathapuram in 1991 and unfolds over a span of 16 days, placing its central character Karasaami in a situation shaped by personal history and external conflict. The narrative backdrop includes the geopolitical tension of the Iraq-United States war, which intersects with the protagonist's journey as he deals with past choices and present responsibilities.
The film also features Mamitha Baiju, K. S. Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Rajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Sreeja Ravi in supporting roles.
On the technical side, the music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while cinematography is handled by Theni Eswar. Editing is overseen by Sreejith Sarang. The film is produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International, in association with Think Studios.
