Kara Box Office Collection Day 7: Dhanush's Film Nears ₹45 Cr Worldwide After First Week In Theatres

Kara Box Office Collection: Dhanush starrer Kara continued its theatrical run through its first week, registering steady collections at the Indian box office despite the weekday slowdown. The Tamil heist drama, directed by Vignesh Raja, completed seven days in cinemas on Wednesday, May 6, and has now entered Day 8 of its run on Thursday, May 7.

Kara Box Office Day 7 Nears 45 Cr Worldwide

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Kara collected an estimated ₹1.58 crore India net on Day 7 across 3,351 shows nationwide. With this, the film's total India net collection has reached ₹28.73 crore, while the India gross stands at approximately ₹33.14 crore after one week in theatres.

The film has also posted decent numbers in overseas markets. Reports indicate that Kara has earned around ₹10 crore gross internationally so far, taking its total worldwide gross collection to ₹43.14 crore by the end of Day 7.

The film opened with ₹6.20 crore net on its first Thursday and saw a rise on Day 2 with ₹6.95 crore. Collections remained above the ₹5 crore mark during the weekend before witnessing a dip from Monday onwards. On Tuesday, the movie collected ₹2 crore net, followed by ₹1.58 crore on Wednesday.

On Day 7, the Tamil version remained the major contributor, accounting for ₹1.11 crore net from 2,217 shows with an occupancy of around 16 percent. The Telugu dubbed version added ₹0.47 crore from 1,134 shows, recording slightly better occupancy figures at 17 percent.

Kara Story, Cast, and Box Office Expectation

Kara is set in Ramanathapuram in 1991 against the backdrop of the Gulf War period and follows the story of Karasaami, a man forced to revisit parts of his past over the course of sixteen days marked by conflict and personal struggles. The film blends elements of crime, drama, and action within a politically tense setting.

Alongside Dhanush, the cast includes Mamitha Baiju, K. S. Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Sreeja Ravi in key roles.

Produced by Vels Film International in association with Think Studios, the project features music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Cinematography was handled by Theni Eswar, while editing was done by Sreejith Sarang.

With the film now entering its second week, industry observers will be watching whether Kara can maintain momentum at the box office and move closer to the ₹50 crore worldwide mark in the coming days.
