Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 17: Suriya Film Nears ₹290 Crore Worldwide After Strong Third Weekend

Karuppu Box Office Collection: Suriya-starrer Karuppu continued its theatrical run with steady numbers on its third Sunday, adding to its overall box-office total more than two weeks after release. The Tamil fantasy action film, directed by RJ Balaji, hit theatres worldwide on May 15, 2026, and has maintained a notable presence at the box office through its third weekend.

According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, Karuppu collected an estimated ₹5.90 crore net in India on Day 17 (Sunday). With the latest earnings included, the film's total India net collection has reached approximately ₹182.45 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at around ₹210.99 crore.

The film also continued to generate revenue in international markets. Sacnilk reports that Karuppu earned approximately ₹1.25 crore overseas on its 17th day, taking its total overseas gross collection to ₹78.25 crore. As a result, the film's worldwide gross collection has climbed to roughly ₹289.24 crore after 17 days in theatres.

The latest figures indicate that the film registered growth over the third weekend. After collecting ₹3.25 crore net on its third Friday, Karuppu improved to ₹5.15 crore on Saturday before reaching ₹5.90 crore on Sunday, its best performance of the current weekend.

The film opened strongly in its first week, collecting ₹113.85 crore net in India. It followed that with a second-week total of ₹54.30 crore. While collections moderated after the initial surge, the film has continued to attract audiences across key markets.

Occupancy figures also showed an upward trend during the third weekend. Overall occupancy increased from 22.9 percent on Day 15 to 29.1 percent on Day 16 and further to 33.1 percent on Day 17.

The Tamil version remained the major contributor to the film's daily collections. On Day 17, the Tamil version generated approximately ₹5.20 crore net from 2,353 shows and recorded 39 percent occupancy. The Telugu version added ₹0.70 crore net from 974 shows with an occupancy of 19 percent.

With Day 18 collections currently underway on Monday, industry observers will be watching how the film performs during the weekdays following its third weekend.

Karuppu: Story, Cast And Crew

Karuppu features Suriya, Trisha Krishnan and RJ Balaji in leading roles, alongside Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada and Supreeth Reddy. The story revolves around Vettai Karuppu, a guardian deity who takes the form of a lawyer and confronts corruption within the judicial system while attempting to help a young girl awaiting a liver transplant.
