Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 9: Suriya Film Nears ₹134 Cr India Net, Crosses ₹217 Cr Worldwide

Karuppu Box Office Collection: The Tamil fantasy action drama Karuppu continued its theatrical run with steady collections during its second weekend. Starring Suriya in the lead role and directed by RJ Balaji, the film recorded a noticeable rise in collections on its second Saturday after witnessing a dip through the weekdays.

Released globally on May 15, 2026, the film has completed nine days in theatres. According to trade tracking platform Sacnilk, Karuppu earned an estimated ₹12.20 crore India net on Day 9 across 4,987 shows. The latest figures take the film's total India net collection to ₹133.85 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at ₹154.99 crore.

The film has also maintained a stable overseas performance during its theatrical run. Reports suggest that Karuppu collected approximately ₹3.50 crore overseas on its ninth day, pushing the international gross total to ₹62.75 crore. Combined with domestic earnings, the worldwide gross collection has now reached ₹217.74 crore.

The Tamil version remained the main contributor to the film's box office performance on Saturday. It reportedly collected ₹10.60 crore net with an occupancy rate of around 49 percent from 3,616 shows. Meanwhile, the Telugu dubbed version, released under the title Veerabhadrudu, added ₹1.60 crore net from 1,371 shows.

The film had opened with ₹15.50 crore on its first Friday before registering growth over the opening weekend. After crossing ₹113.85 crore in its first week, collections dipped during the second Friday but improved again on Saturday.

About Karuppu

Written and directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu blends fantasy and courtroom drama elements. The story revolves around a guardian deity who disguises himself as a lawyer and becomes involved in a legal battle connected to corruption within the judicial system and a young girl awaiting a liver transplant.

Apart from Suriya, the film also stars RJ Balaji, Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada and Supreeth Reddy in key roles.
