Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 18 (Early Trend): Tamil superstar Suriya has scored one of the biggest hits of his career with Karuppu, the fantasy action drama directed by RJ Balaji. Released on May 15, 2026, the film has managed to hold its ground at the box office even in its third week, attracting audiences with its mix of action, emotion and folklore-inspired storytelling.

Directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu features Suriya in the lead role alongside Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Swasika, Supreeth Reddy and several supporting actors. The film presents Suriya as a powerful protector linked to the divine force of Karuppusamy, a revered village deity. The story follows a father and daughter who become trapped in a corrupt system, leading to a dramatic battle between justice and evil. The fantasy elements combined with strong emotional moments have played a major role in the film's popularity.

According to early box office estimates, Karuppu collected around Rs 182.45 crore net in India within 17 days of release. The film's worldwide gross has reportedly reached nearly Rs 289 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year and a major comeback success for Suriya.

Karuppu saw a massive dip in numbers on the third Monday. The movie earned Rs 1.57cr on day 12 until 8:30pm including Rs 1.36cr in Tamil and Rs 21 lakhs in Telugu

Meanwhile, talking about Karuppu success, director RJ Balaji told NDTV, "I'm very happy, very content and grateful. This is everything we wished for and more. We couldn't have asked for a better fairytale ending for this film. It's been nearly 33 months since I've been holding on to this film. At the end of it, the success feels even sweeter despite the issues and delays. The film has crossed Rs 300 in collections and is moving forward. I'm so happy".
