Karuppu Morning Occupancy Day 6: Suriya has all the reasons to be on cloud nine and rightfully so. After all, his recent release Karuppu, which had hit the screens after a lot of chaos, has been doing wonders at the box office. The movie, which is touted to be a fantasy action drama, is directed by RJ Balaji and has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Interestingly, Karuppu marks Suriya's 45th film as a lead actor and it has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced.

Starring Suriya in the double role, Karuppu also features Trisha Krishnan and Balaji, alongside Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada and Supreeth Reddy. Interestingly, Karuppu marsk Suriya and Trisha's reunion after two decades and their collaboration has been one of the important highlights of the movie. After opening to grand reviews, Karuppu has been maintaining a good hold at the box office and has emerged has Suriya's highest grossing film in just 5 days. However, Karuppu has been slowing down before completing a week of release.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Karuppu, which recorded a footfall of 25.38% during morning shows on day 5, saw another dip and recorded an occupancy of 21.15% during morning shows today (day 6/ first Wednesday) for the Tamil version. To note, the footfall for Telugu version of the movie, which is titled as Veerabhadrudu, 13.91% during morning shows today.

Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 6 (Morning Trend)

To note, Karuppu witnessed a slow start at the box office today and struggled to earn Rs 1cr. In fact, the movie earned Rs 87 lakhs for the Tamil version until 12:30pm and Rs 18 lakhs for the Telugu version, making the total collection as Rs 1.05cr. Given the trend, Karuppu is set to touch Rs 100cr mark nett today (day 6/first Wednesday).

Meanwhile, talking about Karuppu, director RJ Balaji stated, "I don't want to overpromise and underdeliver. It is a very entertaining, mass masala film with Suriya sir we always love. Ayan, Singam... all the films that we have seen of him... so that is the Suriya sir I wanted to show in this film. The film is made for people of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra... It is not made for people on social media. It is made for those who celebrate cinema in the darkness of cinema halls, not for those who do postmortems on social media. Not for them. This is for all of us to celebrate".
