Karuppu Morning Occupancy Day 7: Suriya is enjoying a strong run at the cinemas, as Karuppu races ahead at the box office. The fantasy action drama has quickly become a major draw for audiences. Within days of its release, the film turned into a talking point across theatres and social media. The film has delivered huge numbers in its opening stretch, despite releasing after considerable production and release issues. Karuppu achieved a key milestone by becoming Suriya's highest grossing film in just 5 days. Industry trackers note that collections remain healthy, though the growth curve has started easing. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Karuppu saw a dip and recorded an occupancy of 19.92% during morning shows today (day 7/ first Thursday) for the Tamil version. To note, the footfall for Telugu version of the movie, which is titled as Veerabhadrudu, 11.27% during morning shows today. Interestingly, Karuppu witnessed a hit in footfalls with the release of Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 which recorded an occupancy of 15.58% in Telugu and 17.60% in Tamil

Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 7 (Morning Trend)

To note, Karuppu witnessed a slow start at the box office today and failed to earn Rs 1cr during morning shows. In fact, the movie earned Rs 67 lakhs for the Tamil version until 12:30pm and Rs 14 lakhs for the Telugu version, making the total collection as Rs 81 lakhs. This took the total collection to Rs 106.16cr after morning shows today..

Meanwhile, talking about Karuppu, director RJ Balaji stated, "I don't want to overpromise and underdeliver. It is a very entertaining, mass masala film with Suriya sir we always love. Ayan, Singam... all the films that we have seen of him... so that is the Suriya sir I wanted to show in this film. The film is made for people of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra... It is not made for people on social media. It is made for those who celebrate cinema in the darkness of cinema halls, not for those who do postmortems on social media. Not for them. This is for all of us to celebrate".
