Karuppu Show Time Tamil Nadu: Producer S. R. Prabhu confirmed in the early hours of Thursday, May 14, that the planned 9 AM shows of Karuppu had been cancelled due to "unavoidable reasons," apologising to audiences awaiting the film's release. The development created uncertainty over the film's theatrical rollout ahead of its scheduled worldwide release on Thursday.

Cinema chain AGS Cinemas confirmed the delay through an official post on X on Thursday morning. In the statement, the theatre chain said the release of Karuppu had been postponed due to "unforeseen reasons" as informed by the producers. The company also stated that refunds for cancelled 9 AM online bookings would be processed through ticketing platforms, while offline ticket holders could collect refunds directly from theatre counters.

AGS Cinemas added that revised screening details would be announced later, leaving audiences waiting for clarity regarding the film's updated show timings.

Tracking Handles Share Release Delay Speculation And Screening Updates

The delay triggered widespread discussion online, with several tracking handles and trade pages sharing updates and speculation regarding the film's release situation. A post shared by Movies Singapore claimed that unresolved financial issues were affecting the release process and suggested that industry figures had reportedly stepped in to help facilitate a release later in the day. The same handle also mentioned that there was no confirmed timeline for the release and that a postponement to May 15 was still being discussed.

Another tracking account, The South Cinemaa, claimed that morning shows across Tamil Nadu and Telugu-speaking regions had been cancelled amid reported financial hurdles. The account further suggested that the makers were aiming for later screenings depending on how the situation developed during the day.

Meanwhile, social media handle Movie Verse stated that shows were expected to begin around noon, although there has been no official confirmation from the producers or distributors regarding a revised screening schedule at the time of writing.

Meanwhile, tracking handle A2 Studio claimed in an X post that the absence of planned 9 AM screenings had created further uncertainty around later morning shows. The handle suggested that the delay and last-minute developments surrounding the release had also put the possibility of 10 AM and 11 AM screenings in doubt.
