Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 9: Sivakarthikeyan Film Crosses ₹48 Crore India Net After Second Weekend

Parasakthi Box Office Collection: The Tamil period political action drama Parasakthi, featuring Sivakarthikeyan in a key role, has completed nine days at the domestic box office with a cumulative India net collection of approximately ₹48.75 crore. The film, which released in theatres on January 10, 2026, arrived during the Pongal festive week and opened to strong weekend numbers before settling into a more measured run. As the film enters Day 10 on January 19, trade observers are closely tracking how it holds during the regular weekday cycle.

Sivakarthikeyan s Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 9

According to estimates reported by Sacnilk, Parasakthi began its theatrical journey on Saturday with an opening-day collection of ₹12.5 crore. The film followed this with ₹10.1 crore on Sunday, reflecting solid initial audience turnout during the festive weekend. However, collections saw a sharp drop once weekdays began. Monday recorded ₹3 crore, followed by ₹2.6 crore on Tuesday and ₹2.55 crore on Wednesday, indicating a slowdown after the opening burst.

Thursday marked a brief recovery, with the film earning ₹5.5 crore, helping the first-week total reach ₹36.25 crore India net. The second weekend began on a softer note. Friday added ₹5 crore, while Saturday contributed ₹4.85 crore. On Sunday, Day 9, the film earned an estimated ₹2.65 crore, based on early and rough data. These figures brought the nine-day total to ₹48.75 crore India net.

The day-wise trend suggests that while Parasakthi benefited from the festive release window, its collections stabilised at lower levels during weekdays and showed moderate fluctuations over the second weekend. The Thursday jump during the first week remains a notable point in its box office trajectory so far.

Story, Cast And Second-Week Box Office Watch

Written and directed by Sudha Kongara, Parasakthi is set against the backdrop of late-1950s and early-1960s Tamil Nadu. The narrative follows two brothers whose lives intersect with a student-led movement opposing language-based policies. As political circumstances and personal responsibilities pull them in different directions, the film examines how social movements influence family dynamics and individual choices over time.

In addition to Sivakarthikeyan, the film stars Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela in prominent roles, with supporting performances from Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, Prithvi Rajan, and others. The film is produced by Aakash Bhaskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner. Music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while cinematography is handled by Ravi K. Chandran and editing by Sathish Suriya.

As Parasakthi continues its theatrical run into the second week, its weekday performance will play a key role in determining how much ground it can cover beyond the initial festive phase. With the Pongal advantage now behind it, the coming days are expected to offer a clearer picture of the film's overall box office standing.
