Suriya 47 Update: Jithu Madhavan's Film Moves Ahead As New Shoot Details Emerge From Ongoing Schedule

Suriya 47 Update: Actor Suriya's upcoming film with filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, tentatively titled Suriya 47, is progressing through its production phase. The project marks the first collaboration between the actor and the director, whose previous films Romancham (2023) and Aavesham (2024) brought him wider recognition.

The film was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Chennai on December 7 last year. Backed by Zhagaram Studios, the film is being produced by Suriya and Jyothika. The makers are yet to disclose details about its storyline or genre.

The cast includes Nazriya Nazim as the female lead, alongside Naslen in a key role. Supporting actors such as John Vijay and Anandaraj are also part of the ensemble. Music for the film is being composed by Sushin Shyam.

According to the latest reports, the film is currently being shot in Chennai, where the team is working on action sequences as part of the ongoing schedule. Nazriya has also joined the shoot during this phase.

Earlier this year, Jithu Madhavan, during a brief media interaction, confirmed that the shoot was underway and said that updates would be announced officially, adding that it would be a proper Tamil film. His collaboration with Suriya has drawn attention, particularly given the filmmaker's distinct style in his previous projects.

Suriya's Packed Line-Up Includes Karuppu And Vishwanath & Sons

The update on Suriya 47 comes at a time when Suriya has multiple releases lined up. Suriya's upcoming release Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, is scheduled to hit theatres on May 14, 2026. The film also stars Trisha Krishnan and features a supporting cast including Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu.

In addition, Suriya will be seen in Vishwanath & Sons, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual directed by Venky Atluri. The film features Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in key roles and is expected to arrive in theatres in July.

With shooting underway for Suriya 47, further announcements regarding the film's release date and additional details are awaited.
