Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is on his way to the Karur Collectorate to take part in an official government programme.

According to a report by The Hindu, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has permitted the Tamil Nadu government to issue government job appointment orders to the families of the Karur stampede victims. The court said the appointments would be temporary and subject to the outcome of judicial review.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has announced that a memorial will be established on behalf of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in memory of the 41 people who lost their lives in the Karur stampede.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has begun addressing the gathering in Karur. During his speech, he said that no matter how successful a person becomes, certain painful memories remain. Reflecting on his own experience, Vijay said the Karur stampede remains one of the deepest sorrows in his life.

Minister for Dairy Development C. Vijayalakshmi welcomed Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Karur event and delivered a brief address to the gathering.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has arrived at Atlas Kalaiarangam in Karur, where he is scheduled to address the gathering. Clad in black, the Chief Minister took part in the opening of the event, which began with the customary recital of the Tamil invocation.

According to India Today, the Madras High Court has directed the Member Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) to submit a report explaining the guidelines governing compassionate appointments and whether they were followed in the Karur stampede case. The direction came during the hearing of a petition challenging the Tamil Nadu government's decision to provide government jobs to the families of the 41 people who died in the 2025 Karur stampede. The petitioner argued that the appointments could raise questions of equality and equal opportunity in public employment.
