Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Speech Highlights: After taking the oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on May 10, C. Joseph Vijay addressed the gathering at the swearing-in ceremony in Chennai and outlined some of the priorities of the new Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government. Shortly after taking oath, Vijay signed several official files linked to promises made during the Assembly election campaign. He later addressed the gathering at the ceremony venue in Chennai.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Speech Highlights

Among the files cleared by the new chief minister were measures related to providing 200 units of free electricity for domestic consumers, forming a special unit focused on women's safety, and establishing anti-drug enforcement units across districts in Tamil Nadu.

During his address, Vijay said the new administration would function with transparency and responsibility. He stated that the government would not hide information from the public and assured people that efforts would be made to fulfill commitments mentioned in the party's manifesto.

White Paper, Welfare, And Transparency Feature In Vijay's Speech

The TVK leader also spoke about releasing a white paper on Tamil Nadu's financial situation for the 2021-2026 period. Referring to the previous administration, Vijay alleged that the state had been left with a heavy debt burden and said the new government would place details regarding the financial position before the public.

Vijay further said sectors such as education, healthcare, food distribution, women's safety, and anti-drug measures would receive attention under the new administration. He also stressed that mistakes and wrongdoing would not be ignored by the government.

In another key remark, Vijay said the administration would operate with a clear chain of responsibility and indicated that final authority in government decisions would rest with him. The statement comes as the new coalition government begins its term with support from multiple parties in the Assembly.

The chief minister also attempted to strike a broader political tone during the speech, saying the government would work for all people of Tamil Nadu irrespective of political differences. He referred to farmers, fishermen, youth, women, and other sections of society while speaking about the responsibilities of the government.

Vijay also thanked party cadres and supporters for their role in TVK's victory. He additionally acknowledged the support extended by leaders from the Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK, and IUML in the formation of the government.
