Trisha Krishnan Casts Vote: Actress Trisha Krishnan cast her vote on April 23 as polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 got underway across the state. The actor was seen at a polling station in Alwarpet, Chennai, where she arrived along with her mother to participate in the electoral process.

Trisha's presence at the booth was noted among the early voters in the city, as polling began at 7 a.m. and gradually gathered pace through the morning hours.

Across Tamil Nadu, several public figures and political leaders were seen exercising their franchise early in the day. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin cast his vote in Chennai, while AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami voted in Salem. Actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay, along with actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar and Vikram, were also among those spotted at polling booths.
The 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election is being held across all 234 constituencies in a single phase. Polling will continue until 6 p.m., with more than 5.73 crore voters eligible to cast their votes. A total of 4,023 candidates are in the fray in what is being described as a significant electoral contest in the state.
The main political contest is between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance and the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance. M.K. Stalin is seeking another term in office from the Kolathur constituency, while Edappadi K. Palaniswami is contesting from Edappadi in Salem district.
Actor-turned-politician Vijay is also a key figure in this election, leading Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) into its first electoral contest. He is contesting from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East constituencies, with the party fielding candidates across all 234 seats.
The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, and the results will determine the composition of the next government in Tamil Nadu. The tenure of the current Assembly is set to conclude on May 10.
